Today we interview Kyle Wallack, an emerging artist and menswear designer for Washed Apparel Co., an NYC menswear brand. Kyle is a resident artist in our West 27th Street Gallery and Showroom with partner and co-founder Tim Edmonds.


Q: Where are you from?

A: From a small beach town in Connecticut.


Q: What inspired you to start making art?

A: My inspiration comes from liminal space… I began at a time when I was having some medical issues. My brain was working unconsciously when I was making art. It just happened, it’s a weird thing to explain.


Q: How would you describe Washed Apparel?

A: Just getting started.

  T: As long as we exist, the brand exists. It’s just an extension of who we are.


Q: Where do you see Washed Apparel in 5 years?

A: Washed is a group of creatives trying to bring together a bunch of creatives.


Q: What are the top 3 brands you would release a capsule collection with right now?

A: 10 Deep, Burberry, Aime Leon Dore.


Q: Do you manufacture your apparel in New York?

A: Yes, New York B*tch.


Q: How would you describe the style of your paintings?

A: I make contemporary Pop Art that is fueled by childhood nostalgia.

 

Q: Who is your favorite person who owns a piece of your work?

A: Isiaah Rashad probably or D Sanders.


Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

A: I would teleport.


Q: Are there any exciting new projects you have coming up?
